The sunny village of Stans with its 2,000 inhabitants is the perfect starting point for hikes in the Karwendel. A warm village atmosphere as well as culinary highlights can be expected from this village located at 560 metres above sea level.

Stans is the preferred start and finish of the Karwendeltour by connoisseurs as well as "beginners". Craggy pinnacles but also lush alpine meadows will accompany you on your way through the nature park. At the end of the tour you can relax in the outdoor pool, leaving all your cares behind. In the evening, you can treat yourself to culinary treats from local and international cuisine.

Deep gorges and hidden castles

The gentle rushing of the Wolfsklamm Gorge surrounds us during our hike. Step-by-step we march uphill - through the rocky gorge. At the end of the gorge, you can already catch a glance of the St. Georgenberg pilgrimage church. It sits enthroned high up on the rock formation promising interesting insights into days long gone by. Those who dread hiking but don't want to miss out on history, can do worse than paying a visit to Tratzberg Castle. The castle lies hidden between Stans and Jenbach. It offers visitors a fascinating "audio drama tour" (for children in a fairytale version), which imparts the exciting history in an appealing way.
