Halltal, the eastern part of Mariazell comprises the rural villages of Halltal* and Mooshuben as well as the former lumberjack settlement of Walstern.

There lies the dreamy Hubertussee with the Bruder Klaus church built in 1967. Along the Arthur Krupp Monuments Trail, you will find a series of profane and sacred representations built between 1900 and 1930.

Every Friday (8 - 17 o'clock) and Saturday (8 - 12 o'clock) agricultural products of the "Mariazeller Genüsse" farmers can be purchased at the Hofladen "Naglhofer ". Particularly impressive are the nature reserves Hochmoor Rieglermoos in Mooshuben with its unique flora and fauna, and the daffodil meadows in Halltal and Walstern.

Rural, idyllic resort town.
In summer, marked hiking trails, the recreational village of Mooshuben, high moorland with unique flora and fauna, daffodil meadows, Bruder Klaus church and Hubertussee in the Walster, cross-country ski trails and curling rinks in winter.
