Winter magic for the whole family in Hoch-Imst

The family-friendly ski area above Imst offers the perfect mix of activity, relaxation and nature experiences. Perfectly groomed slopes, two varied natural toboggan runs and the Alpine Coaster Imst – open at selected times in winter – ensure fun and action for the entire family.

Comfortably up the mountain
The two 10-seater panoramic gondolas of the Imster Bergbahnen take skiers, snowboarders and tobogganers comfortably and barrier-free up the mountain. From the valley station, you can either head to the middle station, the starting point of the toboggan runs, or continue up to the Alpjoch top station at 2,100 metres above sea level. Even during the ascent, an impressive view of the surrounding winter landscape unfolds – a true highlight to start the ski day.

Slope fun and variety
Nine kilometres of perfectly groomed and family-friendly pistes are waiting to be discovered. While beginners make their first turns in the practice area at the valley station, experienced skiers enjoy the long descent from the top station. Adrenaline junkies will find the steepest challenge of the ski area on the “Pratz Bäume” slope, with gradients of up to 60 percent.

Tobogganing fun on two runs
Those who prefer dashing downhill on two runners will find two natural toboggan runs in Hoch-Imst: Starting at the middle station, the Untermarkter Alm toboggan run offers four kilometres of curve-filled excitement. About 40 minutes further on foot, at the Latschenhütte, the Obermarkter Alm toboggan run winds six full kilometres down the mountain.

Alpine Coaster Imst – the winter highlight
A special experience also awaits visitors in winter on the Alpine Coaster Imst, the longest alpine roller coaster in the world. Speed downhill for 3.5 kilometres – through bends, waves and jumps.

The coaster is open on the following winter dates:

• 26 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, Friday – Sunday, 11:00 – 16:00
• 6 February to 1 March 2026, Friday – Sunday, 11:00 – 16:00
