Bärnbach

*The town of Bärnbach, once known for coal mining and glass production, has developed into a residential town with a wide range of art and culture. Within a short distance you can find traces of many artists such as Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Prof. Ernst Fuchs or Robert Zeppel-Sperl.

Bärnbach offers countless cultural attractions. Well-known artists have left their traces here and made art & culture tangible. Probably the best known is the St. Barbara Church - Hundertwasser with its colourful diversity and golden tower elements. Only 150 m away you will find the façade of the New Secondary School designed by Zeppel-Sperl. And right next to it in the city park, the Moses Fountain by Prof. Ernst Fuchs is a colourful experience. Another special feature of the city is the GlassMuseum. Here you can marvel at seasonal exhibitions on the theme of glass or stroll through the shop and discover a "glass treasure" or two.

The Holy Mountain - quasi the local mountain of Bärnbach - surprises again with silence and contemplation. A small church, the crucifixion group or the convent of the Carmelite nuns are the special features of this spiritual place. On the northern outskirts of Bärnbach is the Alt-Kainach Castle, which seduces every visitor with its castle museum on cultural trails. You can cool off in the fantastic Schlossbad Bärnbach, with its wonderful sunbathing lawns around the castle.
