Schnaus liegt westlich von Ilanz, auf der linken Seite des Vorderrheins. Das Gebiet reicht von 700 m ü. M. über die Alp da Schnaus auf 1700 m ü. M. bis hinauf zum Crest da Tiarms auf 2412 m ü. M. Ein grosser Teil des Gebiets besteht aus Gebirge.
