The Oberharz is both the heart and the highest region of the Harz Mountains, the highest mountain range in northern Germany.

Surrounded by stunning forests, rolling hills and romantic valleys, the six Oberharz villages lie at altitudes ranging from 380 to 927 metres: Altenau, Buntenbock, Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Sankt Andreasberg, Schulenberg and Wildemann.
