Welcome to Grossheide!

In Großheide it is really original: high moor settlements, long canals, varied forest, lush meadows and windmills typical of the landscape are just waiting to be discovered.

Großheide ranges from the Berumerfehner Moor nature reserve to the Arler and Westerender Hammrich landscape protection areas. Marsch and Geest meet here. Green meadows and blooming fields in a seemingly endless expanse characterize the landscape of Großheide. In the midst of this nature, it is easy to find the peace and relaxation you need to recover from everyday life. This is z. B. a walk through the Berumerfehner forest.

In addition, Großheide also offers opportunities to become active. The flat landscape and a well-developed network of cycle paths are ideal for cyclist tourists, who can also be guided by the junction system. Großheide is also an ideal place for riders and holidaymakers with dogs.

Despite the prevailing calm, Großheide is centrally located in the heart of East Friesland. In just 20 minutes by car you can reach the cities of Norden (Norddeich) and Aurich, as well as some Sieorte and thus the North Sea. The journey to the rest of East Friesland (e.g. Emden, Greetsiel, Wiesmoor) takes just a little longer.
