Ganz ursprünglich ist Allschwilein altes Sundgauerdorf und darüber hinaus auch die bevölkerungsreichste Gemeinde im Baselland. Noch heute stehen die noch gut erhaltenden Riegelhäuser von damals. Geschätzt wird die Nähe zur Kulturstadt Basel, aber auch zum Landwirtschafts- und Erholungsgebiet.
