From the foot of the Karawanks, you go through mixed forests along the rushing Rosenbach out to the Drava. There you follow the mighty stream along the natural riverbank to the bird paradise “Drava Biotope.” In the pilgrimage site Maria Elend, the ascent through pine forests begins to the final highlight: the wondrous mountain chapels – with a magnificent deep view!
The route leads from the Lindenhof at the foot of the Karawanks along the Rosenbach through the wide Drava plain out to the Drava stream. There it follows the mighty river downstream to the Drava Biotope. From the river, it finally goes back through the Drava plain to the Karawanks, to Maria Elend. The last section is a beautiful mountain hike up to the impressive mountain chapels and back down to the starting point.

Coming from Villach, pass through St. Jakob, turn right after the “blue” bridge, then continue straight ahead to Tallach.
Take the train to Rosenbach station and the GoMobil to the starting point
Parking lot opposite Gasthaus Lindenhof in Tallach
If you don't want to do the whole round, start directly at the pilgrimage church of Maria Elend.
