Experience more between glacier, mountains and lake

Zell am See-Kaprun, in the heart of the Austrian Alps, is a nature and holiday paradise par excellence. Situated at the base of the 3.203 metres high Kitzsteinhorn and the Zell local mountain, the Schmittenhöhe, all kinds of holiday dreams come true around the crystal-clear Lake Zell: For hikers and water sports fans, for families and nature lovers, for cyclists and trail runners, for adrenalin junkies and connoisseurs, for yogis and golf enthusiasts.

The top tips for an unforgettable summer holiday:
-Zell am See-Kaprun has not one but three local mountains; the Schmittenhöhe, the Kitzsteinhorn and the Maiskogel. All three mountains are real local recreational areas for hikers, bikers and families and offer quite something. For example, the popular “Schmidolins Feuertaufe“ adventure trail, Gipfelwelt 3.000 or the “Maisiflitzer” Alpine Coaster.

-A very special hiking experience is the “Kitzsteinhorn Explorer Tour“. Accompanied by a National Park Ranger, you explore four climate zones by cable car in comfort and on foot. Highlight of the tour is Salzburg‘s highest panorama platform ”Top of Salzburg“ at the Kitzsteinhorn and a visit to “Gipfelwelt 3.000“, including cinema and National Park Gallery.

-The Kaprun High-Mountain Reservoirs are an excursion destination of superlatives. A guided tour of the dam wall offers fascinating insights into the man-made high-alpine construction. The world’s highest-situated via ferrata on a dam wall as well as the “Höhenburg Climbing Arena“ with more vie ferrate and sports climbing facilities are also located here.

-Yodel on the mountain, yoga on the stand-up paddling board or a get-together with herb witches on the Schmittenhöhe: Zell am See-Kaprun offers many possibilities to try something new during the summer months.

-“Lake Zell Magic“ is a spectacular water, light, music and laser show and an appreciation of the world-famous Lake Zell. The 20-minute show is staged in the Elisabeth Park from mid-May to mid-October every year: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 10 pm in May, June, July and August and at 9 pm in September and October. Free admission. “Lake Zell Magic“ is perfect for a sundowner drink at the lake shore.
