All three mountains are real local recreational areas for hikers, bikers and families and offer quite something. For example, the popular “Schmidolins Feuertaufe“ adventure trail, Gipfelwelt 3.000 or the “Maisiflitzer” Alpine Coaster.
-A very special hiking experience is the “Kitzsteinhorn Explorer Tour“. Accompanied by a National Park Ranger, you explore four climate zones by cable car in comfort and on foot. Highlight of the tour is Salzburg‘s highest panorama platform ”Top of Salzburg“ at the Kitzsteinhorn and a visit to “Gipfelwelt 3.000“, including cinema and National Park Gallery.
-The Kaprun High-Mountain Reservoirs are an excursion destination of superlatives. A guided tour of the dam wall offers fascinating insights into the man-made high-alpine construction. The 20-minute show is staged in the Elisabeth Park from mid-May to mid-October every year: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 10 pm in May, June, July and August and at 9 pm in September and October. Free admission. “Lake Zell Magic“ is perfect for a sundowner drink at the lake shore.
