This family-friendly winter hike offers wonderful views as well as cultural and historical insights, e.g. in the chapel on the Egga.
- Directions

The ascending footpath leads you from the village square past the sports centre. Follow the asphalt road to the lake. Continue trudging to Alpe Äbnet, cross the ski slope and follow the signs through the winter forest slightly downhill to Riti. Follow the signs to the chapel at Egga and then on the road back to the village of Grächen.

From Visp take the train to St. Niklaus. There you change to the Post Bus which takes you to Grächen every half hour. On weekends, there is a direct bus service from Visp to Grächen. Find full timetable information at www.cff.ch
