The winter hiking trail is wide-tracked and sunny! The best place to start is at the Rinderhütte on Torrent and walk the trail downhill. The route leads under the chairlift and along the Mountain "Schafberg" towards the south. The views into the Rhone Valley go on and on - phenomenal. And with a bit of luck, you may spot chamois or ptarmigan near the edge of the forest. After a few bends and forest clearings, you reach the picturesque Torrentalp and finally the middle station.

The path is mechanically prepared, wide and not very steep downhill. It can be walked with normal winter or hiking boots. It is also crossed by winter sports enthusiasts.

In warmer temperatures during the day, it is possible that the route is closed or only partially open due to avalanche danger. Observe the corresponding instructions on site at the gondola lift. Please stay on the signposted paths and respect the game and forest protection zones in the vicinity of Tschärmilonga (further south).

Be sure to take a break at the idyllic Torrentalp. Or extend the hiking trail with a detour to the Sennhütte - Schnydi route (see separate description).

From Basel and Zurich: A1 motorway to Bern; A6 to Spiez; direction Kandersteg; Kandersteg - Goppenstein car transport; direction Gampel; Leuk - Leukerbad.
From Geneva: Motorway A1 to Lausanne; direction Sion/Sierre; Leuk - Leukerbad.
From Milan: Motorway A8/A26 direction Simplon; car transport Iselle-Brig; direction Leuk - Leukerbad.
- Public transportation

Leuk can be reached by train (SBB), then by bus (LLB - Leuk Leukerbad Bus Reisen) to the starting point in Leukerbad.
On foot or with the Ringjet you get to the valley station Leukerbad and with the mountain railway to the Rinderhütte to the starting point.
Return journey: From the Torrentalp centre station, take the cable car down to the Flaschen valley station and the bus back to Leukerbad or Albinen.
