From Goppentein train station you start the mainly steep ascent to Faldumalp. Arrived at the Faldumalp you can visit the beautiful chapel "Maria zum Schnee". In addition, you have a magnificent view of the entire Lötschental from here. The mountain path continues steeply uphill and then over a long ridge to the Niwen at 2,769 m.a.s.l. From here you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Lötschental, the Rhone valley and the 4000-meter peaks of the Valais.
