An early cable car takes you up to the Gemmi Pass. The view from the airy platform of the Gemmi Lodge lets your eyes wander far over Leukerbad, which lies below you, over the four-thousand-metre peaks of the Valais. The tour starts in the midst of the mountain world and leads leisurely on a gravel and dirt path along the Daubensee lake to the historic Hotel Schwarenbach. From here it continues to the Alp "Spitellmatte" to the top station of the Sunnbüel cable car station near Kandersteg.

Use marked bike trails and routes only, and observe all signposting. Please close gates after passing through. Please be considerate to walkers and to plants and animals. As a rule, walkers have priority. When planning, take into account participants’ fitness level and ability. All riding is at one’s own risk.
- Tips
-
Please be particularly considerate on this historic route, which is also popular with hikers, and take an early cable car.
Those who want to return to Leukerbad can do so on the same route, or extend the tour. The freeride trail to Kandersteg can also be done with a normal mountain bike (if in doubt, take the cable car for safety's sake). In Kandersteg you load your mountain bike onto the train to Goppenstein. From here a fast bike path leads down to Gampel and from here to Leuk. Another detour to Jeizinen and a super trail to Leuk is also possible...
