Description

You start directly in Lech at the starting point Rüfiplatz and take the bus to Oberlech. Alternatively, you can also take the Oberlech cable car uphill and then hike to Schlössle. You hike uphill to the lookout point Tanegg, past the Grubenalpe until you reach Kriegeralpe via a gravelly alpine path. After a short climb uphill, passing the stone wall "Chluppa" and the reservoir lake, we descend via Zugertobel to the valley station of the Steinähder lift. The path takes you back to the Zug toll station. In Zug, you can enjoy a cosy meal at an inn.Special features Instead of taking the hiking bus, you can also take the Oberlech cable car to Oberlech and from there on foot to the "Schlössle".

Directions

Directly from the starting point at the Rüfiplatz take the free hiking bus in the direction of Oberlech or the Lech - Oberlech cable car and walk to the Schlössle. At the terminus "Schlössle" get off and follow the road, which is still asphalted, uphill on the right. At the first turn to the left of the lookout point Tannegg, turn left and continue uphill past the Grubenalpe. Continue uphill on the gravelly alpine path over the species-rich mowers. You will meet the Kriegeralpe, which invites you to take a break. From here we go uphill for a short distance past the stone wall "Chluppa" and the reservoir on the right. Now follow the alp trail downhill through the Zugertobel, passing the valley station of the Steinähder lift. The lively gurgling of the brook accompanies you on your way downhill until you meet an asphalt road leading to Zugertal. Follow the road downhill left into Zug. From here you can get on the hiking bus at the toll station and drive back to the starting point. Or walk back to Lech via the Lechuferweg.

Tips

Places of interest: Nature reserve Gipslöcher - a beautifully laid out geological nature trail branches off at the Grubenalpe. It provides an easy to understand insight into the origin of this doline landscape. The varied landscape also gives marmots optimum protection against enemies, and the soft gypsum rock is ideal for cave building.

Refreshment stops: Restaurants in Lech and Oberlech, Kriegeralpe, restaurants in Zug.
