Follow the 10 km-long garden culture trail via the Lindau mainland and you’ll find yourself on a fascinating journey. Explore extensive parks, such as the historically unique Lindenhofpark with the Lindenhof Villa and museum, under the shade of huge old trees. Peek through elaborate garden portals to catch glimpses of grand old villas, including the Alwind Villa. The view widens through apple trees and vines across Lake Constance and all the way to Austria and Switzerland.
Take the opportunity to explore Lindau with all its unique facets. Start at Lindau’s Europaplatz, and walk first along the lake and then via Schachener Straße to the Bad Schachen Hotel. From there, pass Lindenhofpark, the Degelstein ruins and Leonard’s Chapel on your way to Schachen Castle, a former knight’s seat. From there you can take the city bus or walk back to your starting point via Hoyerberg mountain.
