- Description
-
The short walk leading up Bocca dei Vaioni crosses the entire area of the Viote biotope of Monte Bondone. This splendid place turns out to be an exceptional vantage point: to the north you can admire the entire Brenta Dolomites group, to the west the Carè Alto group with its three main peaks, and to the south instead the entire ridge that from Cima Cornetto, part of the Tre Cime del Bondone, leads to Monte Stivo in the direction of Lake Garda in the Valle dei Laghi; to the east instead we will find the Palon.
The small elevation gain will therefore lead you to savor unique views.
The Brenta Dolomites Group shows itself in all its extraordinary beauty particularly during the early morning hours when the sun rises and colors the entire slope.
- Directions
-
From Le Viote, start walking westward on the narrow forest road leading to the wide meadows of Torbiera delle Viote (moor) (trail mark No. 607).
You reach the meadows near a fence where you can see a sign bearing various indications.
Continue in a south-westerly direction towards “Bocca dei Vaioni”. Follow the mule track that climbs with a moderate slope up to Bocca dei Vaioni (1695 m), marked by a SAT sign.
Return is along the ascent route.
NB:
From the pass, a quick detour to the right allows to climb Roste del Bondone, the grassy ridge north of Bocca dei Vaioni and a little higher. From there the views range even further.
