The hiking trail leads from the center car park in Oetz along a paved path to the town Habichen. In Habichen you cross the street at the Hotel Waldhof and continue on a forest path. This path leads into a wide meadow path and further onto a paved side road. Through a wood covered brigde you cross the Ötztaler Ache. Tip: After about 300 meters, there leads a path to the Habicher lake. The small detour takes about 15 minutes.
At the end of Habichen you continue on the paved side road further up to the main road. Next to the main road, a separate path leads up two hairpin corners to a forest junction. Follow the beautiful forest path which leads you to Tumpen.
In Tumpen you can get the bus back to Oetz.

The car drive to the Ötztal valley. Situated in Tirol, the Ötztal valley set off in southerly direction and is the longest side valley in the Eastern Alps. The journey with the car leads you through the Inntal valley to the entrance of the valley and further on through the valley. Among the toll motorways you can also use the country roads. Travel safe and comfortable with the train to the Ötztal Bahnhof train station. Last stop and exit point is the train station Ötztal Bahnhof. Afterwards you can travel smoothly and quick with the public transport or our local taxi companies through the valley to your desired destination. - Parking next to the river (at the end of Oetz on the right hand side) – free of charge, but limited parking; camping prohibited
- Parking Acherkogelbahn - free for guests of the gondola lift, camping prohibited
