The Alm is located at an altitude of 1575 m in a particularly quiet location. Start of the tour is at the parking lot between the hamlets Winklen and Unterried. It leads a wide forest road up the mountain. After about 20 minutes you reach the idyllic Winkelbergsee, a nice place to stay. In countless serpentines, the forest trail continues towards Wurzbergalm. Alternatively, the narrower footpath (this route was deposited), which branches off after about 25 minutes walk left. At the beginning you still have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of Längenfeld. Later, the tour runs through dense coniferous forest. After less than 4 kilometers you reach the Wurzbergalm. There you can fortify yourself with delicious homemade specialties.

Between Winklen and Unterried (parking at the gate), the climb begins steadily rising through a beautiful forest to Wurzbergalm. After about 20 minutes you reach the small hidden in the forest Winkelbergsee. If you follow the signs in the direction of Wurzbergalm, you can either opt for the wide forest path or take the narrow mountain path, which branches off after about 25 minutes on foot. Once at the top, you can strengthen yourself in the cozy cabin and warm the stove in bad weather.

Appropriate equipment such as breathable suitable outdoor clothes for the weather, ankle-high walking boots,
wind-, rain- & sun protection, hat, possibly gloves, is for all hikes and tours necessary. Please bring a first-aid
box, a mobile phone, a walking map and if there is no hut on the way a snack and enough to drink.

For very sporty, the ascent to the "goats Peter Steig" offers. This trail leads partly very steep directly to the hut.

The car drive to the Ötztal valley. Situated in Tirol, the Ötztal valley set off in southerly direction and is the
longest side valley in the Eastern Alps. The journey with the car leads you through the Inntal valley to the
entrance of the valley and further on through the valley. Among the toll motorways you can also use the country

Travel safe and comfortable with the train to the Ötztal Bahnhof train station. Last stop and exit point is the
train station Ötztal Bahnhof. Afterwards you can travel smoothly and quick with the public transport or our local
