After a hearty breakfast at the Alpengasthof Pinzgerhof, hike through dense forest along the Silberbach trail and then along the Alpbachtaler Höhenweg towards Alpbach. This stage has only a few metres of altitude difference and is therefore perfect as a conclusion.
- Directions
-
Alpengasthof Pinzgerhof - walk along the R24 path back to the forestry road - turn right and walk through the woods crossing the Silberberg stream up to the "Ramsberg" farms - after the farms bear left - hike along the R20 to the "Alpbachtaler Höhenweg" towards Alpbach - on reaching the tarmacked road walk into the valley to where the walk started.
This stage of the 3-day hike covers minimal elevation gain and is therefore ideal for the last day.
Tip: before you go back to Alpbach, take a short detour down to Reith i.A. village centre - it's worth it!

Before returning to Alpbach, we recommend a detour to Reith i.A.village centre. From the Pinzgerhof, follow the road downhill initially on a tarmacked road, then through the forest. After approx. half an hour you reach Reith i.A. The beautifully situated bathing lake invites you to take a refreshing plunge into the crystal-clear water. If you prefer to stay dry the the Hildegard Garden is an entirely different feel-good oasis in Reith i.A. In addition to being the source of herbalism, the garden is also a recreational haven with a barefoot path and massage trail. An attempt is made here to bring the ancient knowledge of the various medicinal plants closer again. Tip: guided tours in German are also offered here!
