- Description
-
The Verzasca dam can be reached by car or bus (stop: "Diga Verzasca"); bungee jumping is an activity offered here between April and October. A well-marked footpath leads from Lake Vogorno, a reservoir, to Corippo, Bivio.
The first part of the walk is relatively flat and crosses a number of small streams flowing from the side valleys into the reservoir. The character of the path then changes, rising and falling to pass above the little village of Berzona before reaching the Costa di Berzona, where a large bridge has to be crossed.
The next part of the walk passes through the village of Vogorno; a number of restaurants are available on this stretch. This is followed by another short climb before the descent to San Bartolomeo with its vantage point and church with wonderful frescoes. Finally, another slight up and down before the bus stop "Corippo, Bivio" hoves into view.
If there's time, why not visit the village of Corippo?
