- Description
-
This short tour of the idyllic village of Frasco, in the upper part of the Verzasca Valley, bears witness to a simple and inventive past and ingenious techniques. To produce the energies necessary for life, the elements of water and fire were used. Water to crank turbines like those of the mill, or fire for heating, cooking and the production of lime. The tour includes 13 exciting posts that give an insight into the rural life of past centuries, which was probably inspired by religious zeal. Beside the 13 posts of the itinerary there are three more interesting places to visit nearby. The lüera (wolf trap) of Alnèd, two kilns at the beginning of the Val d’Efra and the white marble quarry of Benàsc. These points are indicated by the letter "a" and by an arrow showing where the trails lead away from the original itinerary.
