Historical and cultural itinerary

This scenic themed trail begins in Brione s/Minusio at the small village square next to the village hall, then leads across the village centre, along the old mule track of the "Capèla rota" to Tendrasca, from where you can enjoy a fantastic view, and ends just above Viona in the Resa Valley. The mule track in itself is of historical value. It has connected Locarno with Brione s/Minusio and Mergoscia since before the 15th century. On the 2.5 km walk, you will come across various objects of cultural value, which are explained in showcases with old photos, local maps and texts in four languages. It's like an open-air museum that shows testimonies from times long past and thus keeps them in memory.
