The snowshoe path starts from the ticket office of the lift facilities and runs up to the mid-line station of the chairlift, where you will find a tavern with a panoramic terrace. Along the way, you will go past Prödor (1740 m above sea level) and Predelp (1670 m above sea level), with the wonderful Prodör hut and the cosy holiday farm house “Alla Meta”.
The landscape of the woodland of the “Faura di Düisbina”, mainly covered in spruce (Picea abies) and Scots pine (Pinus silvestris) at lower altitudes and in larch (Larix decidua) at higher altitudes, is really spectacular. The forest was planted at the beginning of the 20th century to protect Faido from the landslides which affected the areas along the sides of the Formigario torrent. Along the way, it is interesting to observe the water works which stop the water from eroding the side of the mountain. The path between Carì and Brusada is called the “sentiero del montanaro” (the mountaineer’s path) and is enhanced by the presence of educational displays providing information on the wildlife which has its habitat in the region.
