- Description
-
St. Jakob im Walde was settled about 800 years ago, the first documentary mention was in 1209. The place was hit by fire disasters in 1886 and 1945. After the end of the war the place was rebuilt with a lot of diligence to a tourist community. The path leads you to numerous power points in the Joglland, provides you with magnificent panoramic views and also shows you the former ore mines, an important source of income in those days.
One of these magnificent panoramic views awaits you at the Arzberg summit cross at 1111 meters above sea level. You should not miss the stop at the Arzberghütte, which is located a little below.

A few tips on correct and fair behaviour in the forest: (Source: www.bundesforste.at )
Hikers should avoid visits to the forest about 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active during this time.
Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any rubbish in the forest.
Camping and lighting fires are strictly forbidden in the forest!
In principle, every person is allowed to pick 2 kg of mushrooms and berries per day for personal use. It is only prohibited if the forest owner expressly forbids it.
