Alpine loop to the idyllic...
Hiking

- Brief description
-
Especially when the rhododendron are in bloom, this alpine hike is a real hit. The views from Kaibling summit, and of the rhododendron in their full glory on the slopes of the Kaibling Alm and along the shores of the Moaralmsee in the second half of June, are something you simply have to experience for yourself.

The biggest elevation change on this tour is tackled easily during our ride on the small gondola up to the Krummholz Hütte. The half-hour hike up to the summit of the Hauser Kaibling is scenic, the mountain vistas are magnificent. The gentle descent to the Rossfeldsattel demands we pay a little more attention, so we don’t stumble over the roots which cross the trail from time to time.
Likewise, the short, rugged section on path No.45 to the Moaralmsee. This lake is like a green jewel set in the midst of glorious high-alpine scenery. Verdant, soft pillows of moss contrast with the powerful, towering pyramid of the Höchstein – and during rhododendron blossom, the contrast between the turquoise green waters and the red of the flowers is especially striking. We now hike along the same path at the foot of the Bärfallspitze back to the alpine saddle, then via the Kaibling Alm (Friends of Nature House) and the broad cart path to the lift terminal.
Variant 2: If you prefer a “sportier” return, we can hike from the Moaralm See up a narrow trail to the Seescharte (No. 45), then hike down trail No. 780 to the Kaibling Alm.
Variant 3: leaving from the Moaralm See, path No. 781 (a beautiful alpine trail) takes us to the Obere Moaralm, then down into Gumpental Valley (a new forestry road). Beautiful, welcoming huts at the valley head. We can hike back down along the road as far as the Knapplhof, or arrange for the hiking taxi to pick us up. - Wegbeschreibung
