Description
The route starts at Pöllauberg and takes us via Hotel Muhr and the Roseggerweg to Pöllau. From there, we return to the starting point at Pöllauberg for the final leg.

During this hike, we experience the landscape and biological diversity of the Pöllauer Tal Nature Park. Simultaneously, opportunities abound to explore cultural highlights such as the Gothic pilgrimage church at Pöllauberg or the "Steirischer Petersdom".

Cultural Tourism: Sacred Art and Organ Excursions

Directions
Pöllauberg - Xandl in Zeil - Hotel Muhr Starting from the nature park arena in Pöllauberg, we cross the country road and after a few meters reach a chapel. There we keep left towards Masenberg and walk approx. 200 m to the next crossroads with the signpost "Hartberg" and continue straight uphill, following the signpost marked white-blue-white no. 6 to the left into the field path. We follow paths 941 and no. 6 in the direction of Zisser Taverne and walk uphill along Zeiler Dorfstraße until we reach the signs for Hotel Muhr/Waldlehrpfad and turn left. From here to Waldhof Muhr we follow the forest nature trail.

Hotel Muhr - Roseggerweg - Pöllau town center - Pöllauberg

After a refreshment, we walk back along the access road in a southerly direction. We stay on this road and follow the white-red-white markings no. 5 towards Pöllau and join path no. 11 at the fork near the Kohl sawmill. The path leads us south to Pöllau. At the adventure pool, we cross the L406 road and reach the Aupark, from where we continue to the center of Pöllau with its large former monastery complex. From the center of Pöllau, we head east past the former Augustinian monastery (castle/church) to the traffic circle, the entrance to Pöllau-Mitte. We follow the red-white-red markings no. 942 or the green signs "Hirschbirnweg" and "Wallfahrerweg Pöllauberg" north of the Raiffeisenbank to the pilgrimage church of Pöllauberg. Via the main square (north of the church), follow the access road back to our starting point at the Naturparkarena.

A few tips on correct and fair behaviour in the forest: (Source: www.bundesforste.at )

Hikers should avoid visiting the forest approx. 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active at this time. Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any rubbish in the forest. Camping and making fires is strictly forbidden in the forest! In principle, every person in the forest is allowed to collect 2kg of mushrooms and berries per day for their own use. It is only prohibited if the forest owner expressly forbids it.
Tips

Along the way, in Pöllau and on the Pöllauberg, the numerous catering establishments look forward to our visit!
