Description
The idyllic spa town of Bad Gams is particularly characterised by its three iron-rich healing springs. Right after the start in the spa park, you can taste the healing water in the drinking hall at the Kurhotel Kipper.

Invigorated by the power of the healing water, you continue along the Gamsbach stream to the district of Furt. Here you can visit the carpet weaving manufakture of Regina Strunz and experience everything important about weaving in the workshop.

Before the path takes you back to the centre of Bad Gams, a destination that leaves no culinary wish unfulfilled awaits you. In the vinotheque in the Weststeirischer Hof you can treat yourself to a variety of delicacies from the Schilcherland region and the wine to go with them. There is no better way to end a hike in the beautiful Schilcherland before walking back to Bad Gams.

Directions
Culinary delights and the beauty of Western Styria are inseparable. On this hike you can enjoy both to the fullest. With a lot of anticipation of many moments of enjoyment, you start off buoyantly opposite the former municipal office. You walk in the direction of the Kurhotel Kipper and follow the path to the left in the direction of the Gamsbach. Along the stream you will enjoy the cooling effect of the water on hot summer days. Soon you reach Furth, a district of Bad Gams.

Over a distance of six kilometres, you will climb about 108 metres in altitude and it will take you about two hours to get back to the starting point. But while enjoying the many delicacies, a little more time can easily pass.

In Regina Strunz's carpet weaving manufakture you can see how a woven carpet is made and buy one for your home. This will then always remind you of your wonderful time in Bad Gams.

The next stop on your enjoyment hike is something typically West Styrian. The Farmer-Rabensteiner family produces everything that makes a perfect salad in Furth, namely vinegar and the green gold of Styria, pumpkin seed oil. Even the typical nutty smell in the premises makes the gourmet's mouth water. You can experience live how the oil is produced when the seeds are pressed and taste it fresh afterwards. An experience for every connoisseur. The family is also known for its traditional handicrafts and its figures made of hay.

After learning more about the art of weaving and the production of kernel oil, take a one-kilometre walk through the forest along the forest road. At any time of the year, you can enjoy a special natural spectacle here. Be it the greening of the trees in spring, the play of light from the sun in summer or the colourful splendour of autumn in western Styria.

At the edge of the forest you can enjoy a fabulous view over the beautiful Bad Gams. Continue with vigour along the country road where you turn left and after 100 metres pass the mill museum. Here you will find lovingly restored exhibits, such as stone and roller mills and various household and agricultural implements, which provide an insight into the product processes of bygone times. Guided tours of the museum are available daily by appointment.

The trail now heads downhill across flowering meadows over the Mittereggbach stream to the Zenz'n Chapel. A last opportunity to take a break and enjoy the peace and quiet before the loop closes in the centre of Bad Gams.

Rarely can you combine culinary delights and nature enjoyment on a walk like this. In the centre of Bad Gams you can end your walk in the peace and beauty of the spa gardens.

All things that are often needed, such as sunglasses, camera or hiking map, belong on top. An emergency kit including blister plasters belongs in every rucksack and it is always advisable to dress according to the "onion system"!
