Description
The Apple Road meanders around 25 km from Prebuch near Gleisdorf to the apple village of Puch and Oberfeistritz near Anger. Along the way, you will meet 30 fruit growers who, as direct marketers, offer all kinds of delicacies made from fruit. These include a wide variety of juices, cider in all its varieties, as well as jams, nectars, fruit liqueurs and, above all, a wide range of fine brandies. Above all, the "Abakus", which 23 "apple men" distil in a strict ritual from the best apple variety of the year in the strictest secrecy.

A dozen restaurants know how to refine the "apple raw materials" into delicious dishes. Classic dishes such as apple strudel are on offer as well as sophisticated desserts. Entire menus - from cider soup and roast cider to apple dumplings and apple ice cream - enchant connoisseurs and gourmets alike.

From the blossom spring to the bathing experience and the famous sights to the harvest time, the region has plenty to offer.

The traditional "Apple Blossom Festival" takes place on the last Sunday in April in the apple village of Puch.An incredible splendor of blossoms bathes the region in a white and pink dress. The first apples are harvested in August and the last ones at the end of October. In the middle of this (3rd Sunday in September), the apple growers celebrate the Apple Road Experience. A festival with thousands of visitors. Not only will you find fresh fruit and the best products from the new harvest at all the stops, but also music, culture and lots of entertainment. The absolute highlight of every ApfelLand trip has been the balloon ride for 30 years. The region can probably be described as the Mecca of Austrian ballooning. This unique experience is offered in the towns of Stubenberg am See, Hofkirchen, Puch and Floing.
