Description
Tour corresponds to trail no. 45c on signposts on site

The forest circular trail is the optimal local recreational hike in Großlobming to get to know the Lobmingtal municipal area. The trail was newly marked and signposted in the summer of 2020 and convinces with comfortable ascents and descents over meadow and forest areas, mainly on wide forest paths. After a short while, there is a nice resting place at the larch wayside shrine with a view of Großlobming and the Seckau Alps towering in the north. The highest point of the hike is the large clearing or meadow at Reitinger, a place to linger and just the right thing for those seeking peace and quiet. The way back leads out of the valley along the newly built and asphalted cycle and adventure path. When you arrive in Großlobming, numerous inns invite you to stop for a bite to eat. If you want to extend this trail a bit, you can complete the hike by taking the circular field path.

Directions
Tour corresponds to trail no. 45c on signposts on site

At the car park (1), 641 m, of the Raiffeisenbank in Großlobming, we orientate ourselves by the yellow signpost with the inscription "Waldrundweg über Reitinger". Walk through the village past the Wulz inn, change sides of the road and walk along the pavement to the start of the Lobmingtaler Rad- und Erlebnisweg. Cross the bridge over the Lobmingbach stream and continue slightly to the right along the road, passing the herbal competence centre. At the next junction, turn left, briefly along the park road, until we hike slightly uphill to the right at the next junction. Now follow the asphalt road for a few metres until a gravel road branches off to the left, which we follow to the Hubertus wayside shrine (2), 722m. The trail continues along forest roads and forest tracks and brings us directly to a large clearing, the Reitinger waypoint (3), 770 m. After a leisurely break, we follow the forest road downhill and leave the main trail in the first right-hand bend. Continue leisurely through the forest and subsequently downhill along the edge of the forest until you reach the Lobmingtaler Rad- und Erlebnisweg. Now turn left and walk along the newly constructed asphalt path and the path we already know through the village back to our starting point.

Safety instructions
To ensure conflict-free interaction on alpine pastures and meadows, it is important to observe a few rules, especially when travelling with dogs. (Source: www.sichere-almen.at - 09/2020)

Avoid contact with grazing animals, do not feed them, keep a safe distance! Keep calm, do not frighten grazing animals! Mother cows protect their calves. Avoid contact between suckler cows and dogs! Always keep dogs under control and on a short leash. If an attack by a grazing animal is foreseeable: Immediately unharness! Do not leave hiking trails on alpine pastures and meadows! If grazing animals are blocking the way, avoid them as far as possible! If grazing animals approach: Stay calm, do not turn your back, avoid the animals! Leave the grazing area quickly at the first sign of restlessness! Respect fences! If there is a gate, use it, then close it well and cross the pasture quickly! Treat the people working here, nature and the animals with respect!

A few tips for correct and fair behaviour in the forest: (Source: www.bundesforste.at - 9/2020)

Hikers should avoid visits to the forest about 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active during this time. Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any rubbish in the forest. Camping and making fires are strictly forbidden in the forest! In principle, each person is allowed to pick 2 kg of mushrooms and berries per day for personal use. It is only forbidden if the forest owner expressly forbids it.
