- Directions

We start from the hotel, past the quince orchards in the direction of Buschenschank Haubenwaller. The trail is marked with a green sign with a red bar. After the asphalt stockyards of the Buschenschank, we leave the marking and walk the white-green-white marking along the edge of the forest steeply uphill. We cross the village road and continue along the trail, following the markings. After entering the forest path, we come to the oil cross - then we keep to the left and walk straight ahead with a view to the right of the pilgrimage church. Then we walk up the pilgrimage path to the church. After visiting the pilgrimage church, we pass the cemetery and turn left under the primary schools onto the marked running track. Then we walk down the steps to the right at the Christmas tree culture and left again. After about 50 metres, we turn right along the forest path until we reach the Ölkreuz (fork). Continue straight on here. After the end of the forest, we walk about 150 metres on the road and turn left before the first house onto the meadow path. Once back on the road, we walk down to the Maierhofer family, here a beautiful field path leads back to the hotel.

Correct behaviour when hiking: Rules of behaviour when hiking
A few tips on correct and fair behaviour in the forest: (Source: Bundesforste https://www.bundesforste.at/english.html)
Hikers should avoid visiting the forest approx. 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active at this time. Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any rubbish in the forest. Camping and making fires is strictly forbidden in the forest! In principle, every person in the forest is allowed to collect 2kg of mushrooms and berries per day for their own use. It is only prohibited if the forest owner expressly forbids it. In principle, every person in the forest is allowed to collect 2kg of mushrooms and berries per day for their own use. Don't forget to bring candle money! A visit with a short prayer and a look behind the altar to the second Madonna are worthwhile.
