This scenic tour leads from the Wipfelwanderweg parking lot in the Murtal region in Styria, from junction 67 twice left downhill to the Rachau - Glein junction to cycle junction 68. After the bus stop, the route climbs slightly to the right past beautiful alpine meadows to the village of Glein, where you will also find Mrs. Eva Tragner's herb store. At the bridge, the tour leads uphill to the left and continues over the Fötschachgraben, on the right-hand side you can see the lovely Berger Kircherl before it leads back to the country road. Now turn left towards cycle junction 69 to St. Lorenzen, where you can stop for a bite to eat at Landgasthof Friedl, Restaurant & Gästehaus Seiger with its beautiful terrace or the Café Gruber bakery. The Gruber sports store with its own bike workshop with a large range of bike accessories and spare parts is also located directly in St. Lorenzen. The tour continues at a leisurely pace to St. Margarethen to cycle junction 68, where you turn left and head back towards Glein-Rachau. At cycle junction 67, turn right twice and continue uphill for a short distance to the starting point of the Wipfelwanderweg trail.

- Safety instructions
-
On hot days, be sure to take plenty of fluids and sun protection with you, as there is hardly any shade on this tour.
Walkers and hikers always have priority. A friendly and considerate approach to pedestrians is a prerequisite. In case of encounters, it is important to make yourself known with the bell and pass slowly. Walking paths and hiking trails may not be used by mountain bikes.
Our nature and landscape is as good as untouched and beautiful. To keep it that way, we ask vacationers to avoid litter and unnecessary noise. In order not to disturb the animals, the mountain bike trails should only be ridden during the day:
Ride only on cleared, marked trails and never off the beaten path. On the forest trails, the road traffic regulations must be observed!
Just like driving a car, you should always ride on sight when mountain biking. On frosty roads, expect to see wood on the roadway and motor vehicles.
If you encounter grazing livestock on the trail, reduce your speed to walking pace to avoid any false reactions from the animals. Please always close grazing gates!
Proper self-assessment is necessary in any sport! Do not overstrain yourself in technique and condition. This also avoids accidents.
- Tips
-
Beautiful alpine meadow tour with a stop at the shady Gasthaus Seiger in St. Lorenzen. On this route you will also find Eva Tragner's herb store and the Gruber bike workshop. After this barely shady tour, we recommend cooling off at the Zechner leisure center in Kobenz.
