From the village center in Hüttschlag, you walk upwards to the Hubalmtal. Sometimes the rocks are decorated with giant ice sculptures.
After about a 3/4 h you reach the Hubalm Chapel. This is a place to stop and be quiet for a moment.
Continue to the Hubalm, which is closed in winter. In thhe Hubalmtal, there are many deers. So, if you are lucky you can hear, see or smells some deers or stags.
If you take your sled with you, it will be faster downwards. Then winter hiking is fun for the whole family. But ATTENTION: There is no liability for accidents.

You walk from the village center of Hüttschlag upwards, pass the Volksschule and walk further until you reach the crossing. Here one path leads downhill, one uphill and one straight to the Hubalmtal - you take the straight one. You walk up to the Hubalm, 1,311 m, about 4 km in one direction - back on the same path.
OPTION: Just before the Hubalm Chapel, a path leads to the Hirschgrubenalm. Follow this until you reach the intersection and then take the path downwards to the Aschaustüberl (about 4 km) - return to Hüttschlag by public bus.
