Description

Directly from the village of Dienten via the St. Nikolaus parish church on a narrow path to the Sommereralm (not managed alp) and further over the Marbachhöhe to the summit cross "Klingspitz". From there, a narrow path leads steeply downhill to the Hochkaser chapel. Here a steep path leads over the Grad in the direction of Dienten down to the Dientner Landesstraße/Fischerstüberl (closed!). Once there you can take the hiking bus back to the village.

Directions

The parking garage Skizentrum Dienten offers free parking throughout the day. From here we start the tour to the Klingspitz. We walk through the village of Dienten and turn right at the vicarage up the Kirchbühel, where a path leads up the slope on the right side. From there begins trail nr. 440, which we follow past the Sommereralm and later the Lettenalm over the Marbachhöhe to the summit cross at 1.988m. The last ascent to the summit cross is on a somewhat steeper narrow path.

The beautiful Logenplatz at the Klingspitz is the perfect place to stay for a short while.

Descent variant 1:

Now it goes downhill again on trail no. 14 to the Hochkaserkapelle. Here we cross the barbed wire/fence directly at the degree in the direction of Dienten on trail no. 55 until we reach the forest road. This leads down into the valley to the Dientner Landesstraße/Fischerstüberl (closed!). From here, the Hochkönig hiking bus runs daily back to the starting point in Dorf.

Descent variant 2:

We follow trail no. 14 to the Hochkaser chapel, where we climb over the wire fence with a ladder and follow the steep path to a fork in the trail. Here we turn left and follow path no. 55b in the direction of Reicheralm. Past the Reicheralm, a gravel road (path no. 54) leads downhill towards the village of Dienten. We come to a fork in the road again and follow trail nr. 50 towards Grüneggalm. From the Grüneggalm, a path leads back to the church or an asphalt road to the Dientner Landesstraße from where we reach the Dienten ski center in 5 minutes.

Safety instructions

Self-assessment Check your physical fitness before every mountain tour and correctly assess your strength as well as that of your companions - especially those of your children! Surefootedness and a head for heights are often very important!
Planning and preparation Plan each intended mountain tour in detail beforehand. Hiking maps and guides as well as information from alpine associations and local experts such as mountain guides and mountain hut keepers can be helpful.
Equipment On the mountain, you will need appropriate equipment and clothing, especially sturdy, high shoes with good grip soles. Weather and cold protection are essential, as the weather can often change unexpectedly.
Weather forecasts Take note of the current weather conditions at: www.zamg.at
Together Follow the 10 rules for the correct handling of grazing animals and do not leave any waste in nature!
Do not kick stones Do not kick stones as this can seriously endanger other hikers. Marked places with a danger of falling rocks should be crossed as quickly as possible and with attention and caution.
Turn back in good time This is not a disgrace, but a sign of common sense. It becomes necessary when the weather changes, fog rolls in, and also when the path is too difficult or not in good condition.

Emergency numbers: Alpine emergency call: 140
                                         International emergency call: 122

Tips

There is a box seat at Klingspitz.
