Hike from one station to the next and enjoy the view and nature at the same time: This is possible on the historical circular trail at the Hahnbaum. Gerhard Moser, town archivist and history expert, has set up the project. The trail leads from the town centre via the Hubangerlstiege to the first station and continues along the Güterweg to the Hubbauern. Bronze Age finds were made there in the 1980s. The trail continues to the entrance at Hetzenbichl. Here an information board tells about the emigration and expulsion of Protestants. At Großunterbergbauern, the landlordship and administration of the farmers from the Middle Ages to 1848 are presented. Further stops are at the Arzenbach and at Zacherlegg, where the Gmach mills and the place and field names are thematised. The trail then leads downhill to a wayside cross and on to Lehenbauer, where the theme is wood. It continues past the farms of Niederbach (hereditary farms) and Stefflmoos (servants) to Sebastianikapelle, the last stop. Chapels used to be built at the entrances to the village to keep epidemics away from the village.
