The starting point is the St. Veiter district of Niederuntersberg, above the Liechtensteinklamm gorge. From Reit (Niederuntersberg 46), a small sign on the right-hand side about 800 metres before Sulzau points to the Heukareck. There is free parking opposite the farm road, which is closed off by a gate. First follow the forest road for 100 metres,Follow the forest road for approx. 100 metres before a path turns off steeply to the left through forest and meadows. This footpath leads steeply and serpentine to the upper Tennalm (always follow the red and white markings). From the Tennalm, you go directly to the summit of the Heukareck (2,100 m). Return on the same path.Remark: very sporty tour (1,500 m altitude difference!). Steep terrain in parts! Good footwear and sufficient provisions necessary (no hut with service!).Another starting point for a hike to the Heukareck is the Niggeltalalm in the Grossarl Valley.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
