Abtenau: 'Au round hike

Varied tour in Abtenau in the district of Au with many opportunities to stop for refreshments in various huts, beautiful waterfalls in the Wasserwelt Au and opportunities to cool off in the Kneipp facility.

Walk between the former municipal office and the Hauser bakery and follow trail 120 to the right around the Arlstein to Burkhard farmer. There, follow the forest trail to the former Seitenalm snack station. After the Seitenalm, follow the circular path in the direction of the Rocheralm and from there follow the forest road again to Burkhard Bauer. Around the Arlstein to the local history museum, there turn right onto hiking trail 12 to Tricklfall (waterfall). Follow the hiking trail to the Dachserfall (waterfall)  (if you are afraid of heights or find it too steep, return to the local history museum and follow the road to the Dachserfall). From there, return to the Kneipp facility and cool off.  At the snack station Wandalm, the hiking trail leads along the fence. At the crossroads, turn right onto hiking trail 110 and hike in the direction of the Karkogel gondola lift to the summer toboggan run. At the Traunstein inn there is also a trampoline or mini-golf course. From there, trail 112 leads back to the starting point.

Coming from Golling in the direction of Abtenau, drive directly into the centre of the village, park in the east car park.
