Lackenkogel

One of the most striking mountains around Radstadt is the Lackenkogel (2,051m) - hikers love the green mountain cone that rises majestically above the Radstadt basin. The ideal starting point is the Sattelbauer, who can be reached by car from Flachau. From the Sattelbauer, head south to hiking trail no. 73 and continue on a forest road into the high forest. You now have two options to choose from: the longer, but more comfortable tour continues on the forest road; a steeper path leads ambitious hikers uphill and crosses the Almstraße four times before finally the Almboden with the Lackenalm invites you to take a short break. From there, the hike leads to a saddle, where the paints that give it its name are also located. A path leads from the Lacken over a wooded ridge in order to then cross the pine fields. The hike continues to the left and leads over the free south ridge until the summit cross appears majestically in front of you. The summit finally reveals a great all-round view of the landscape. The hollow around the Lackenalm is also a real feast for the eyes in autumn, because then the larch ring shows itself in an autumnal blaze of colors. The ascent route is chosen again for the descent.
