A summer full of enjoyment: this is taken care of, not only by the village's Hornbahn cable car, which comfortably carries you up to the mountain pastures, but it’s lastly up to you to make your way by shanks' pony to where the air is a little thinner and the view a little clearer. And the children too will feel happy when the mountain pastures and fresh air beckon with new things to discover all along the way.

From the village square past Hotel Kerschbaumer, heading east through the road underpass, then follow the “Alte Gschüttstrasse” uphill. At the Schattauhöhe, enjoy marvelous views of the Gamsfeld, Bodenberg and Tennengebirge. After around 10 minutes on trail, you will reach the Pass-Gschütt road. Take a left here, continuing a short distance along the road. At the car park turn onto the Demelweg, soon bringing you to the turn-off for the “Grünortstube”. Now following the banks of the Russbach, the path brings you back to the village square.
Variant: Briefly continue up to the Pass-Gschütt road, then along the “Höhenweg” back to town.

Coming from the A10 motorway, take the exit Golling direction Abtenau and Russbach. From Bad Ischl you drive via Bad Goisern and Gosau to Russbach.
