- Description
-
An epic tour for strong runners with powerful stamina. Absolutely start before 09:00 o'clock.
- Directions
-
Let's start with the comfortable part: the ascent takes place with the Schattberg X-Press in Saalbach. At the top, you run along the "Seven Summits" - which are perfectly signposted - into the valley head. But the first peaks Stemmerkogel and Saalbachkogel can be admired a little below on the smooth trail. Nevertheless, you should save your energy here, as this tour will be very long.
It goes up to the Medalkogel and along the ridge to the famous Sommertörl. Then over the Manlitzkogel and Mittagskogel to the Murnauer Scharte. From the Murnauer Scharte you don't walk up to the Geißstein, the highest mountain of the region, but further to the Hochtorsee. If your strength weakens, consider descending to the Lindlingalm and finishing the tour at the end of the valley.
Below the Tristkogel the route continues to the Saaljoch and down to the Ossmannalm and on to the Forsthofalm. After the Forsthofalm you follow the trail a short way down before the path meanders to the Spieleckkogel. Via Reichkendlkopf to Rosswaldhütte and via Wieseralm and Reiteralm to Wetterkreuzspeicherteich. From this magnificent vantage point the trail then descends back to the centre of Saalbach.
