The route leads from the Dr.-Josef-Mehrl-Hütte mountain hut through the snowy winter landscape into the idyllic Rosanintal Valley. Here, there is a cross-country ski-run to Lake Rosaninsee. Follow the ski-run past the lake, up to the Königsstuhlscharte saddle and on to the Königsstuhl summit. The wintery Nockberge mountains show off their best side along this route, with sparkling snow, impressive ice sculptures and subtle traces of the local wildlife. Return along Trail no. 126.

Chamois
The chamois lives in herds, and when in danger it lets out a long whistle. Both the male and the female animals have short, curved horns. The traditional Austrian “Gamsbart” hat decoration is made from the dark dorsal stripe on the back of the chamois. - Additional information
