- Description
-
You hike from Hüttschlag through the forest on a forestry road or on a hiking path. Just after you have to turn left, there is a chapel. Which is a place where every hiker should calm down a bit. On the way to the Hirschgrubenalm you pass a small tarn with a small resting area. On the Hirschgrubenalm you can eat self-made delicacies and you spend your first night on this mountain hut.
The alarm clock at the mountain hut is a bit different than in the valley: Cowbells will wake you up. After that you enjoy a delicious breakfast. You hike up to the Aschlreitalm and further on meadows to the Hühnerkarscharte. From here you have a picturesque view to the Keeskogel, which is the highest mountain and the only glacier in Grossarltal. From the Hühnerkarscharte you descend to the Hühnerkaralm. Also here you get spoiled by self-made delicacies and you spend your second night up there.
The next day you hike down to the Hubalm and further to Hüttschlag, which was the starting point of your tour.
