Myth of Salzburg
The permanent exhibition on the second floor of the Neue Residenz with its state rooms focuses on the development of Salzburg in history, art and culture since the beginning of modern times. The content ranges from the absolutist ruling archbishops and Romantic painters with their fascinating paintings of the Salzburg world landscape to contemporary themes.
Treasury Archaeology and the Middle Ages: The treasures from the archaeology and medieval collections such as the Celtic beak pot, the helmet from Pass Lueg or the Gothic winged altar by the master of the "Virgo inter Virgines" are presented in the Hall of Mirrors on the 2nd floor.
