Brief description

The second stage of the Glan-Blies Cycle Route also features a good balance of culture and nature – and we have a new river to follow. After Homburg, the Blies flows towards St. Wendel, while the Glan-Blies Cycle Route heads to Waldmohr along the river Glan. This area also features the most wooded section of the entire route. From Waldmohr, the wooded moorland of the Westpfälzer Moorniederung dominates – a very open and pleasant landscape.

Description

After a very short time in the saddle, you reach Schwarzenacker Roman Museum. You pass through Beeden, famous for its sizeable stork population, before reaching Homburg, where the Schlossberghöhlen Caves, Hohenburg Castle Ruins and Karlsberg Castle are well worth a visit. The fisherman’s hut at Mohrmühlweiher pond near Waldmohr is a great place to stop for a break, and is located directly on the cycle path before you reach Schönenberg-Kübelberg. Anyone with energy to spare can pedal the whole way around Lake Ohmbachsee.
