AROUND ŠALVIOVÝ PRAMEŇ (SPRING) TO THE CHALET AT ZELENÉ PLESO (TARN)
The most technically and physically difficult MTB route leads to the highest Tatra wall of Mt. Malý Kežmarský štít (900 m), near the Chalet at Zelené pleso (tarn). The ascent is quite balanced all the way long. The first 3.4 km leading to a spring called “Šalviový prameň” are covered with compacted gravel, the rest is in the form of a rocky but groomed trail. There are a couple of hairpin bends above the spring which will take you to the dwarf pine zone. And from there, you will have a great view of valleys (Zmrzlé doliny), the legendary Mt. Jastriabia veža and the tarn of Zelené pleso. This view will charge you with adrenaline so that you can enjoy the last flat metres to the fullest.
