A new hiking and cultural highlight awaits visitors to the hikers’ paradise that is the Appenzellerland, beautifully situated between Lake Constance in the north and imposing Mount Säntis in the south. Take up the trail and explore the many facets of Appenzell culture. The 50-kilometre-long culture trail, signed in both directions, leads through the lovely hills of the Appenzellerland, past 50 cultural points of interest.
“Culture” can mean many things. Cultural points of interest, townscapes, historical transport buildings, literature linked to a particular place, museums, famous people from the region, exceptional works of art in public spaces, buildings linked to economic history, references to political, religious and geographic events – all this is waiting to be explored on the Appenzellerland Culture Trail.
Be hot on the trail of Appenzell culture!
