Märzeglöggli / Gypsum gallery tour

This tour is especially recommended in spring, as this is the right time to see the Märzeglöggli in bloom. Of course, this tour can also be done until November. It is particularly suitable for families who are interested in nature.

Sights:

Alluvial forest reserve
This area is flooded during high water and serves as a retention basin. No trees are felled. ETH Zurich uses it for study purposes.

Märzeglöggli
In the past, 30 - 40 years ago, the Märzeglöggli had to be guarded. Today they are respected and have multiplied into the hundreds of thousands.
At the end of February, beginning of March, as soon as the snow has melted, they are already in bloom. In their multitude, they are a real splendour as carpets!

Weirs
Until 1995, the Wutach was dammed here so that more water could flow into the works canal of the Gonon Kunststoffe company to power a small power station. The weirs were subsequently demolished and a shallow fish ramp was built.

Gypsum museum and gypsum gallery
200 metres of secured and accessible gallery. Museum plaster mill, plaster stamping machine and many everyday objects.
Opening times: Every 1st Sunday of the month (April to October), guided tours at 2.00, 2.45 and 3.30 pm, as well as by prior arrangement (Tel: +41 (0)79 744 89 20)
