Start is at Marktplatz square (480m of altiltude). You hike northwards past the gothic parish church, follow Klostersteig Trail (lined by 100-year old lime trees) towards Schlossberg – monastery area with early Baroque monastery church, meditation trail with text columns of the Cathedral of Baltimore in the monastery area with views of the bathing lake and Samingbachtal Valley – continue on the Unterhaas carriage way along the bathing lake northwards to Oberpichler (view of the monastery area), then from Grabner im Eck to Falkhäusl and uphill to Falkermauer (large granite castle at an altitude of 700m from which one enjoys views of Kleine Yspertal Valley), past Geretsberg on the ridge and southwards to the natural landmark of Schwingender Stein (19m³ large rock that you can try to get vibrating with some efforts) and to Opferschalen (rocks shaped like sacrificial stone bowls) – continue past Oberwittmesser to the hermit’s cave at Steinberg (used to be the home of a pious hermit) and to the natural monument of Schafstein (350-ton rock boulder at an altitude of 748m) with a fantastic panoramic view (Kleine Yspertal Valley, Wald- and Mühlviertel districts) and continue past Handberger and Kronreithner to the observation tower (13m-high observation platform with repatriates’ cross at an altitude of 662m) from which one enjoys a fantastic panoramic view of the villages of Waldhausen, Schlossberg and the hill landscape of the Mühlviertel district. Eventually we hike past Blechnerhof downto the starting point at Marktplatz square.
