This hike offers plenty of viewpoints and nice hangout spots, I definitely recommend taking it slow and enjoying the nature. The first viewpoint is overlooking Brno and can be found just before reaching the TV tower, with lots of people having BBQs and enjoying the sunset there. As you reach the water, I recommend taking a break under the bridge as it seems to be a dragonfly hub. The water is clean and flowing but may not be deep enough to swim properly. Further up the river, I took a shortcut by crossing the river by foot on the eastern side of the train bridge (see map). The water there is knee deep and flows very slowly, with flat enough ground. It is very easy to stay on the path and walk to the next bridge if you do not want to get wet. The next part of the hike goes through a large equestrian center where many events are held all year round. I walked in in the middle of a jumping competition, which made for an interesting break. There is a paintball arena a kilometre further.

The path is very (very!) steep after the ruins, take it slow and maybe find a safer alternative in rainy conditions as you could easily slide down all the way to the road (road with a blind turn on top of that)

regular buses back to Královo Pole station until 10.29pm, then night buses
