Hiddensee Island - Across Rügen's Little Sister Island

The tour begins at Neuendorfer harbour. After getting off the ferry, the ride leads south around Polshagen and past the sea side beach in northern direction. While biking in direction Vitte on the car-free island we enjoy the unttouched heath and meadow landscape. Arriving in Vitte, we continue straight ahead towards the harbour where, next to the harbour building and „tent cinema“, cafés and small restaurants are situated. We continue along the Vitter bodden on the dyke towards Kloster.

Uphill through Kloster, we reach the heath landscape of Hiddensee. Only by foot we can reach the last bit of the path that leads towards the lighthouse Dornbusch which is the landmark of Hiddensee. Then we continue back down into town wherein we pass the island church, the Gerhard-Hauptmann-House and the local museum. Afterwards we move along the grass path past the Henni-Lehmann-House on the bodden side of Hiddensee, back to Vitte and further on the already known route towards the harbour of Neuendorf.
